Highland Cabinets are made with the most exacting tolerances, attention to detail, quality, of construction, and the finest of materials, Highland cabinets are fully certified in accordance with ANSI/KCMA A161.1/1995 standards. A copy of the Independent Laboratory tests and certifications is available on request.

MATERIALS
Only the finest 45 lb. test industrial grade particleboard or Panolam Brand thermally fused melamine panels are used. For laminate and hardware selections refer to specific choices available in Section E "Style & Finish Selections" in the Dealer Resource Catalog.

CONSTRUCTION
Highland cabinetry utilizes European type frameless case construction with full overlay doors and drawers. All cabinet components are accurately doweled and glued to adjoining members. 5/8" cabinet backs are let into the case sides in a rabbet leaving a smooth, clean interior, steel angle irons are provided in the top of base cabinets at the rear for added support and mounting of countertops. 5/8" thick material is used for the sides, backs, roofs, floors and shelves to assure a very rigid frameless case. 3/4" thick material is used for doors and drawer fronts.

EXTERIOR FINISH
Available either White, Almond, or Folkstone (gray) Panolam Brand melamine board or high pressure laminates as manufactured by the Wilsonart or Formica Corporation. All vertical and horizontal facing case edges are available as a premium option and must be specified. For laminate selections refer to specific choices available in Section E "STYLE & FINISH SELECTIONS" in the Dealer Resource Catalog.

INTERIOR FINISH
Contemporaries: All exposed interior surfaces are Panolam Brand white melamine including shelves and drawer bodies. For special applications and requirements matching high pressure interiors are available as a premium option.

Woods: All exposed interior surfaces are Panolam Brand Fusion Maple melamine including shelves and drawer bodies. For special applications and requirements other interiors are available as a premium option.

SHELVES

5/8" thick full depth adjustable shelves are standard in wall and base cabinets allowing for maximum storage surface area. A 32mm spacing is used to support a 5mm concealed steel pin shelf system. Adjustable shelves in tall cabinets are available as a premium option unless otherwise specified in the Dealer Resource Catalog.

DRAWERS
Bodies of drawers are constructed of 5/8" thick Panolam Brand melamine panels and are glued/doweled together in conjunction with a 1/4" thick drawer bottom fitted into a groove on all four drawer sides. All exposed edges are banded in matching PVC tape. The rigid drawer system functions on a high quality white epoxy coated ball bearing drawer guide suspension system for smooth and deflection free operation. Solid Wood drawers are available as a premium option.

HINGING
Hinges are Blum 125 degree snap lock fully concealed with a 3 point adjustment system allowing for perfect door alignment in relation to the cabinet case. 176 degree opening hinges are used in certain corner wall and base applications to assure proper access.

DOOR AND DRAWER FRONTS
3/4" thick 45 lb. Industrial grade particleboard in melamine or high pressure laminate, or 3/4" wood depending upon style. Contemporary door and drawer edges are banded in matching or contrasting color PVC or matching high pressure laminate as required. For laminate/wood selections and finishes refer to specific choices available in Section E "STYLE & FINISH SELECTIONS." in the Dealer Resource Catalog.

TOE KICKS
5/8" x 4" black melamine secured from the rear with steel angle irons to the cabinet sides and floor thus sealing off the case bottom to provide for a completely mouse proof cabinet. Toe Kicks with laminate matching the cabinet exterior may be ordered upon request for a slight additional charge. Toe kicks will be black unless matching toe kicks are specified on the order.
